Cantor was founded in 1989 by Joel Cantor, a real estate veteran, who started his career with Salomon Brothers in their real estate finance department, and later worked with Trammell Crow in commercial real estate development. Through the Firm, Joel has established a strong track record having purchased, managed, and operated over four dozen successful commercial and residential real estate projects in 17 states across the U.S. through several market cycles, totaling over $500 million. He also led the development of Signature Place, which includes office and residential space on the waterfront of downtown Saint Petersburg, Florida. Signature Place won the Project-of-the-Year from the American Institute of Architects and houses the Firm’s headquarters.

The firm is managed by Executive Officers Joel Cantor, CEO, and Glenn Becker, President. They constitute a leadership team that has over 60 years of experience in private equity real estate. Over the course of their careers, Joel and Glenn have collectively acquired or managed in excess of $3.3 billion of real estate investments. The Executive Officers are assisted by a highly experienced team of employees and professionals in the areas of acquisitions, accounting, legal, compliance, risk management and client services.
